Is It Safe? How We Ensure Your Loved One’s Ashes Are Protected
We know that ordering memorial jewelry requires an immense leap of faith. You aren’t just buying a product; you are entrusting us with the physical remains of someone you love dearly.
The thought of sending those ashes in the mail—or handing them over to a stranger—can be terrifying.
That is why we don't view ourselves simply as jewelers. We are guardians of your memories. We have developed a strict, fail-safe Chain of Custody protocol to ensure that your loved one is safe, respected, and accounted for every single second they are in our care.
Here is exactly how our process works, from the moment you order to the moment your loved one returns home.
Our Strict "Chain of Custody" Promise
The number one fear our customers have is a mix-up. To prevent this, we operate with laboratory-grade tracking standards.
-
Unique Identification: The moment your collection kit is generated, it is assigned a unique Barcode/Tracking ID that is linked specifically to your order number.
-
Scan-In Protocol: When your kit arrives at our secure studio, it is immediately scanned. You receive an email notification instantly so you know they have arrived safely.
-
The "One Artist" Rule: We never process two orders at the same workstation simultaneously. One artist works on one piece at a time. The workspace is completely cleaned and inspected between orders to ensure there is zero risk of cross-contamination.
How Much Ash Do We Actually Need?
A common misconception is that we need a large portion of cremated remains to create a piece of jewelry. This is not the case.
For most of our rings and necklaces, we only require a very small amount—roughly 1/4 of a teaspoon (or a small pinch) of fine ash.
We treat these remains with the utmost reverence. Our artisans are trained to handle them with steady, respectful hands, understanding the gravity of what they are holding.
What Happens to the Unused Ashes?
This is the question we are asked most often, and the answer is a guaranteed promise:
We return 100% of any unused ashes to you.
Because we ask for such a small amount to begin with, there is often a small amount remaining after the jewelry is cast or filled. We carefully place these remaining ashes back into a secure container. They are packaged and sent back to you in the same shipment as your finished jewelry. Nothing is ever discarded, and nothing is ever left behind.
The Creation Process: Step-by-Step
We want to remove the mystery. Here is the exact timeline of your order:
1. The Shipping Process
Once you place an order, we send you detailed mailing instructions in your order confirmation email.
2. The Safe Arrival
You simply place the small amount of ash in the vial and drop it in the mail. You can track the package all the way to our door. Once it arrives, our system automatically emails you: "Your loved one has arrived safely at our studio."
3. The Crafting
Our master jewelers create your piece. Whether it is a glass infusion or a resin setting, the ashes are permanently sealed or set into the jewelry.
4. The Homecoming
We package your finished jewelry—along with any unused ashes—in a secure, insured package. We send you the final tracking number so you can watch your loved one come home.
Our Dignity Guarantee
We are a small team of real people. We are not a factory. When we work on your jewelry, we often think about the stories behind the person we are memorializing.
If you are still feeling anxious about the process, please do not hesitate to contact us and speak to us directly. We are honored to answer any questions you have to help you feel at peace with your decision.
